With a shaky step, she tried to ease herself forward. She shrieked when her foot slipped as a piece of the ledge crumbled off underneath it. She slid her back down the wall and rested on her haunches, her eyes squeezed shut as she grasped her head. She was terrified, and oh god she was going to die, she was going to slip off and fall and die and there was nothing she could do.
“I can’t- I can’t do this, I can’t!” She wailed, now into a full-blown panic attack.
He’d tensed and almost had a heart attack when she’d slipped, deciding then that his misgivings could wait. He jumped the gap between the two buildings and shimmied over to where she was, gently scooping her up and hugging her close. A second later his entire form tingled as he felt the light eco surge through his form, and they were airborne.
