Something sparked in her ear, and her head whipped around to look for the disturbance. Coming face to face with a grim, white-haired beast crouched in front of her. Her eyes widened as she gasped, sliding away slightly from the creature before her. Her arms resumed their guarded stance, her hands really shivering now.

The black eyes she had caught a glimpse of reflected nothing back at her- they were soulless, and stared right into her. She had forgotten completely about her ripped shirt and her injury, panic seeping into her bones. The quiet only made her more anxious, almost expecting to be torn to shreds by it’s claws at any second.

He watched as she skidded back, head tilting to one side, ears flickering at the various noises the movement produced. He edged forward, taloned hands splaying against the ground farther in front of him and boots scuffing forward to join them. He leaned forward, suddenly far too close, sniffing at the base of her neck. His inquisitive scenting of her person moved to the scratches near her collarbone, apparently managing to get a good scent of the one who’d caused them.

So that’s what it was. Someone had harmed girl-mechanic-friend-Keira. He felt a strange, burning worry in the back of his mind - Jak, warning him about doing anything rash.

He ignored him.

The creature in Jak’s body gave a low snarl and pulled away from her, body shuddering as talons and teeth lengthened. All at once he’d whipped around and shot out of the garage, claws digging into the concrete as he took the first few steps on all-fours. He howled, showing his and Jak’s rage to the world like a war banner.

He’d take care of this creep-stranger, and make sure he never tried such things again.
