It seemed like it had been forever, but she had not looked to move from her cornered position. She had spent her time rocking herself back and forth, blinking back tears. Jak had disappeared and gone away, and she felt miserable. All she wanted was a drink, a wrench, and a scrap heap of precursor metal to wreck the shit out of. And another drink on the side.
Out in the distance, she heard guards out and about, the wind slightly rustling against the building.
There wasn’t much indication of how long he’d been gone, but suddenly he was at the entrance of the garage again, still pale and void-eyed. He slowly entered the building, standing straight other than his head being slightly lowered as he glanced around - looking for her.
She would be happy, he’d gotten rid of the perpetrator. Jak seemed upset, for some reason - probably just frustrated he’d taken the kill.

Not his fault.
