She braced herself as she heard the intruder slowly approach her, waiting with baited breath. Time stopped as she could feel the presence before her just watch her- and her eyes flew open when she felt something wet slide across her cheek.
Somehow she had a feeling it would be him, the beast that had previously left her to her own devices. But what she hadn’t counted on was seeing him splashed in blood. A realization dawned on her, and all the tears she was holding back from the nights earlier events rushing forward and spilling down her cheeks. In a moment, she was bawling, not caring that there was a terrifying, blood-coated thing in front of her. She buried her face in her hands- her top was ruined, her shoulder stung and she was alone with a blood-crazy beast. Perfect, what a great, perfect, amazing god damn night.
He winced and pulled back slightly at her crying, his expression one of utter confusion and shock.

Jak used the beast’s confusion to his advantage, managing to regain control. He winced and grabbed hold of a metal bar as the change reversed, not glancing up until it was done. Once he did he grabbed a rag and wiped his hands down - not wanting to think about what was on them - and pulled her into a hug, burying his face into her shoulder.
“ ’m sorry…"
His voice cracked a bit as he spoke, making him sound even more broken than he felt.
