She rubbed at her neck- just as she thought, her joke had failed miserably. Her eyes were downcast, until she felt him scoop her up in his arms. Her face flicked up to his, a bit of her fiery self sparking back into her.
“Jak my legs aren’t broken, I can walk just fine! This is ridiculous!” Her ears were pulled close to her head, angled downward in embarrassment. There was a splash of red in her cheeks as she pursed her lips at him.

“This is true,” he mumbled, walking off without making any move to set her down. “I also don’t care.” He kisses her, glancing up occasionally to look at their surroundings as he walked.
